Terms of Use

The agreement between you and Ganges.

These Terms govern your access to and use of haat, the marketplace operated by Ganges (a sole proprietorship, India) (referred to here as "we", "us", or "Ganges"). By creating an account, listing a product, or placing an order, you agree to these Terms.

Who we are

haat is a global marketplace for products made in India. We connect verified Indian sellers with buyers in 75+ countries. Our office is at Near Pink Square Mall, Jaipur, Rajasthan, India.

Your account

You can use haat as one of three account types:

• Buyer. You browse, purchase, and review products.
• Seller. You list and ship products to buyers worldwide. Additional terms apply — see the Seller Agreement on this page once finalised.
• Business buyer. You source in volume via RFQ.

You're responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for everything that happens on your account. We may suspend an account that violates these Terms.

What you can buy

Every product on haat is made in India by a verified seller. We display a single all-inclusive price for international shipping destinations — landed cost, no surprises at delivery. Where we can't deliver duty-paid, we say so on the product page.

Payments & escrow

Buyers pay in their local currency. Funds are held in escrow and released to the seller after delivery is confirmed (or after the dispute window closes, whichever comes first). Sellers in India are paid in INR.

Prohibited items

Antiques without certified provenance, ivory, wildlife products, weapons, narcotics, counterfeits, and items that violate Indian export law or the destination country's import law are not permitted. Listings flagged for these are held for review.

Intellectual property

Sellers retain ownership of their product imagery and descriptions. By listing on haat, sellers grant us a licence to display that content for the purpose of operating the marketplace.

Limitations

We act as a marketplace. Where the cause of a problem is the seller, the carrier, or the destination customs authority, we will help resolve it — but we are not a party to the underlying sale. To the maximum extent allowed by law, our liability is limited to the value of the order in question.

Changes

We may update these Terms as the marketplace evolves. Material changes will be announced by email or a banner at sign-in. Continued use after a change means acceptance.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, with exclusive jurisdiction in the courts at Jaipur, Rajasthan.
